Ever Had a Morning Like This One?
Oh no! Is the alarm clock broken? Woke up 45 minutes late. Ouch. Stubbed toe running to the bathroom to get ready. Daughter bounces in to remind me that it’s her morning to bring in the classroom snack. Great. All we have are dried up carrot sticks. Son can’t find any clean socks. Cell phone practically vibrates off of the counter and might just blow up due to multiple client calls while getting ready. Already have 9 calls to return. Hurriedly get dressed and discover that the puppy has chewed up my pumps. No time for real breakfast, so throw snack bars to the kids in the car on the way to school. Realize the car is on “empty” and need to stop for gas. The children arrive at school (by way of stressed out, lunatic mom) late. Son reminds me that 4 tardy slips in one quarter will earn them a demerit. Lovely. Speed off to work, already exhausted.
I’m sure that just reading this gets your heart racing. But, I know from my working parent clients, that my “disaster” morning is not that uncommon.
Just look at the glaring examples of and exhausted, “rat race” participant, and ask yourself, “Is this me?”
-so tired she overslept…probably forgot to set the alarm.
-reactive mode, panics
-disorganized and unprepared…no time to grocery shop
-no clean socks…not time to do laundry
-car out of gas (much like the empty feeling in her life)
The result? A stressed out, cranky, unproductive person…at 8:30am! If this type of description fits you, I can help you find your way back to the joyful, fulfilling, and promising life that you were born to lead. Step off the rat race course, and let me help you explore the possibilities!
